The Mårtensbro school and kindergarten
proposal “Tillsammans” by Anttinen Oiva architects ltd.
The architecture reflects action in the school; children’s world and diversity of learning. The figure of the building is formed by clear structures of white-clad tiled blocks of different sized units. Following the topography of the site, the blocks mark out central space of the school, which is connected to classrooms and corridors by large openings in the walls. Materials and colours vary in each classroom areas. Building is designed to be energy efficient, compact and flexible in terms of making later changes in spatial organization. Courtyard is divided into built, functional area and surrounded by protective forest-area. Outdoor spaces and games can be used as tool for learning.
