La ristrutturazione ed ampliamento di un cascinale storico è stata concepita nel rispetto della preesistenza dichiarando in maniera evidente l’area di nuova edificazione attraverso l’utilizzo di un rivestimento di facciata continuo che abbraccia l’edificio con un involucro in legno. Il disegno di una corte chiusa su tre lati invita all’ingresso principale dell’edificio. La caratteristica composizione ferrosa della terra del luogo, suggerisce l’uso dell’acciaio cor-ten per il rivestimento di facciata della corte di ingresso. La manica storica viene recuperata attraverso un processo di cuci-scuci della tessitura muraria in pietra esistente. Il progetto di riqualificazione si estende anche al paesaggio con la sistemazione del verde circostante la residenza attraverso l’analisi e l’utilizzo di essenze autoctone.

The renovation of an old farmstead is conceived with a complete respect of the landscape and the historic part of the building. The new addition is clearly distinguished by the use of a continuous wood façade that wraps the new building connecting it to the old stone building. The design of a courtyard closed on three sides, leads to the main entrance of the house. The typical ferrous composition of the local stone was the inspiration for the use of the cor-ten steel for the ventilated façade at the entrance court. The stone structure of the old building was as much as possible preserved and reinforced. The surrounding landscape was designed to complete the renovation project of the property. Local plants and flowers were chosen to create a natural surrounding.
