Nebula

We are the descendants of men. Man who have left their tropical home, their birthplace, and united in the face of adversity. They united not only to the point of survival, but to the development of a sophisticated social interaction and culture. They were so few in number and so vulnerable that today they would probably be considered as endangered species.
So what allowed them to survive at all? They millenniums were passing by. The earth changed the climate, the climate changed the earth, but they traveled on. They crossed rivers, climbed mountains, and sailed the seas, moving from one place to another. Transporting goods and food become a mother of inventions for all means of transportation. Man has never stopped looking forward. Once they have harnessed the horse, the wheel had been shaped, they have attached the engine, when it wasn’t enough, they have added the wings. The time had come when the world was conquered, but the path of the pioneers fell into oblivion. The trials of our ancestors remained covered.
We had to reach to the very interior of our body cells, to study the fossils, and excavate the buried cities, before We dared to track the routes and timing of migration. Even when the traces of a jet airplane marked the sky over the Diomede islands each and every hour, traveling from today to tomorrow and back, the strait itself remained untamed. The invisible barrier of time and date, assisted by the iron curtain of mistrust and hatred divided the two hemispheres keeping the tiny islands, physically so close, yet mentally so far. Their inhabitants never fell to be neighbors, they rather observed each other in the crosshairs of their binoculars.
The time has come when the will of unity grew stronger than distrust. Challenging all obstacles man attempted reconnect the lands, time and again the proposals had failed. However the failure of spanning the waters leads man to dig deep under the troubled and icy sea. As the digging continued the extracted material was used to form a dam between the two islands where time stood still. The enclosed land was dried and became a new point on the map.
In the mean time, strong powers from the all over the world started to send impulses to the new informational center. Energy streams bearing information from the place where they started channeled the tunnels emerging in the place where human activity and time crossed in an arctic oasis. Dateline is abstract to all of us who have never lost or gained a day. Time is the only thing that man can not control.So, when those two powers are combined, something has to happen- explosion, eruption, lightening, spark, fire. Over time as the voices and the outcries of the word grew louder, the ground began to shake. Wonderful cords of color and energy burst through the opening, sucking their voices and cries into the sky. The cords crackled and swayed around another as they grew higher and stronger over the harsh arctic landscape, forming a symbolical illustration of unity of continents. The cords became a living graphical barometer of the world. They gathered most powerful and up to date stream of information from the world, reacting like a plant growing stronger or withering down.
New stars are formed in nebulas whereas world peace can only be formed in such a special environment. Man realized his dream of a new place which is comprised of people’s desires for peace and unity. The creation of the Nebula Park is largely dependent on international agreement to take up a challenge and create a Multinational Peace Park. The most spectacular structure that human eye had ever seen was materialized.
The magical geodesic sphere, flickering belly button of the world, was placed over the mouth of colorful cords. Its latticed structure surrounds the internal free space. The structure acquire different space modules that can dock inside, their size and quantity are adjusted to current need. The geodesic network gives a possibility to place a multifunctional Hall of Fame for the heroes who struggle for peace, a congress centre, exhibition space, science centre and all entertainment facilities one can imagine.
Wherever you are, whatever you do, you can observe how information is transferred to illuminate the sphere, giving a spectacular three dimensional, vivid picture of world’s state of being. One can contemplate the image of the world from the outside, as well as from the Nebula’s core, flying among the modules and cords of color. The modern eternal fire was ignited. Everlasting, but vulnerable, only time will tell if mankind will dare to feed the flames.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
The hard work had to be done. The Bering Strait Tunnel was drilled simultaneously from 4 points. The extracted remains from the tunnel were used to form a dam. The circle enclosed by the dam is 1km wide and 6m deep. Its shape and depth was deliberately chosen according to geological conditions and its possible ecological impact. Once the water was pumped out from the circle, the two Diomede Islands were reunited and the place to create the nebulaPARK was prepared. Between two islands and on the crossroads of the tunnel and international dateline, a net structured hemisphere was placed. The tunnel threads surrounds the Nebula circle, giving the place for two underground platforms. One platform is dedicated to service intercontinental travels, the second one services the commuter transport between two islands. At the foot of each island two small stations are placed, from where one can reach the hotel modules, research stations and panorama points situated around the seashores. All tunnels and premises were dug into the rock mass. The integrated architecture does not interfere with the natural arctic surroundings, and gives a place and space for a phenomenon to accrue. Let’s go for Arctic Circle trip and sleep in the granite caves with a view to marvelous illuminations of the nebula!
The round shaped station generates vibrations of the international dateline. That reaction we can see on the platform floor. Check it out! Chains of elevators and communication system, following colorful streams of information which takes you to 100meters diameter atrium. The atrium is inserted into the main sphere’s core amongst the docking stations for the functional pods. Each module size refers to its function. Most important is the voice. You can find it in the centre. Do not miss that!
