The library is located on the border of an urban park in Cordoba placed beside a rose garden. The limit between the inside and the outside is regarded not as a frontier but as a connection built up by means of a transparent façade. The children’s lecture room is placed on the ground floor plan, in an intermediate area between inside and outside, overlooking the park. The entrance to the library opens to the main avenue one level above but also with views towards the park and the children area. The rest of the programme is organized in terraces on a second level.

An aluminium grid on the main façade lends its image to the building ad filters both light and views. A large plied metal roof structure covers the continuous interior space. Between its pleats, the skylights introduce north light into the lecture area that has a lineal balcony with views towards the rose garden.
