This project aims to provide a solution to integrate old and new residents through gentle strategies, using the urban space as an attractor. There is an intention to preserve the existing ‘atmosphere,’ activating social relationships by employing elements of everyday use. In visual terms, an ambient kerb will gather the different actions together, creating direct and indirect relationships. In sequential terms, a series of activities (areas for play, relationships, waiting times, trade or others) will be developed in the neighbourhood with the tools that we are providing and which may be, in turn, reinterpreted by the residents.

To that end, some criteria typical of ‘the domestic’ are transferred to public space, transforming home objects into urban pieces that allow for collective use. Furthermore, ‘the public’ enters into the yards of the buildings, making many activities visible which are already performed by now, and generating new spaces for the residents’ relationships which may strengthen the bonds and self-esteem of the neighbourhood.
