DÉRIVE (italiano) Un corridoio verde risale dal lago Aspen verso il centro di Lerum. Il progetto per Lerum é quello di un’isola urbana che galleggia in una “fascia di natura”. I bordi dell’isola urbana sono l’espressione delle distinte relazioni con l’intorno: il fronte lago, la stazione di pompaggio delle acque, il fiume, la strada e la stazione ferroviaria. Le condizioni topografiche diventano elemento generatore del progetto che si struttura lungo il dislivello tra la stazione ferroviaria ed il resto del sito che scende fino al lago. Nella parte piú alta del terreno proponiamo un parco che estende il preesistente corridoio verde che attraversa Lerum e ci permette di raggiungere le distanze di sicurezza richieste dalle parti residenziali. Il parco copre due piani di parcheggio interrati per la stazione e per i residenti. Gli spazi aperti tra il costruito, a livello piú basso diventano degli spazi urbani protetti. Lungo il lato della stazione di pompaggio, proponiamo una barriera edificata non residenziale, composta da tre gruppi di edifici generici, utilizzabili in modi diversi (uffici, spazi commerciali, hotel…). Questa catena di “contenitori di attivitá” si àncora alla stazione ferroviaria grazie ad un livello di accesso principale intermedio all’altezza della stessa stazione. La ridefinizione dell’ingresso di Lerum avviene attraverso la rimozione della stazione di rifornimento e lo spostamento della rotonda. L’arrivo a Lerum sará segnato da una nuova piazza tra tre edifici per uffici, funzioni pubbliche o spazi commerciali, chiaramente visibili e facilmente identificabili anche dall’autostrada. Il centro tennistico verrá consolidato, ampliato e affiancato da nuove strutture sportive. La ridefinizione dei volumi e degli spazi aperti rafforza il rapporto con il lago e gli spazi verdi circostanti. L’intenzione é quella di creare un’area urbana rispettosa del paesaggio naturale e dal carattere eterogeneo, in cui persone di origini ed etá diverse possano abitare, lavorare o semplicemente passeggiare.

DÉRIVE (english) Built islands floating on a “belt of nature”. A veil of vegetation and wetland becoming the continuous green connections along the lake and towards the city centre. The clearly defined borders express the distinctive relationship to each situation: Lake Front, the power plant side, the small river, the roundabout by the access to Lerum and the railway station. We take advantage of the topography with its large difference in height between the railway station and the rest of the site. We propose to enlarge the upper level to create a raised park (part of our “green belt”) that reach the station. By these means we get the desired security distance to housing and a green environment viewing the lake. The lower part gets protected from the noisy traffic and becomes a friendly living urban space. The park covers an underground two-level parking garage for commuters and for those living and working there. We propose a built shield against the power plant in order to decrease the security distance for housing. It consists of three groups of generic buildings with a big variety of uses (offices, commercial or leisure activities, hotel…). These activity-containers have a close linkage to the railway station by having their main floor on the same height level. The rearrangement of the access to Lerum is made by removing the petrol station on the site and relocating the roundabout after the tunnel. Instead of what we find today, there will be a lively public square with three buildings, easily recognised from the motorway, with office and commercial space as well as other public functions. The tennis centre will be further consolidated by improving and extending the existing building. The new tennis centre will now take advantage of its privileged location by opening itself to the lake and the nature around with smaller and more transparent volumes. We intend to create an environmentally friendly and very heterogeneous development where many different people, of all ages and backgrounds come to live, to work or just to drift.
