The new park in the Bruckhausen quarter of Duisburg connects the quarter with Duisburg’s green belt and creates a strong axis between the Thyssen-Krupp company area and the quarter. The formally shaped ridge reflects the aesthetics of the industry and opens towards the natural appearance of a Public Park. On top of the ridge the parallel path is becoming a lookout that offers a great amount of intriguing views on the history of the Thyssen-Krupp industry in Duisburg and the structures of the new park. The ridge is divided by the Dieselstrasse that leads visitors on an east-west-axis from the industrial area to the quarter. Crossing the park the Dieselstrasse creates a centre for gastronomy and communication with a restaurant and a coffeeshop.

Starting with the ridge peels of different aspect and use create a lively transition towards the housing area of the quarter. Descending the stairs and ramps that lead down from the ridge the visitors arrive at the activity-tape that is parallel to the ridge. Different possibilities for beachvolleyball and other games are offered on tartan grounds, sandpits and lawns. Part of the tape is an integrated day-care centre that uses the surrounding spaces for playgrounds and terraces. East of the tape big meadows with widely spread apple trees border the back gardens of the housing area. In the south of the park allotments for the citizens are bordering the parks structure.
