This low income apartment building located in the corner of a popular neighborhood of Mexico City, houses 29 apartments with approximately 51 sqm each. The project’s main objective is to provide the user a sense of security from the harsh environment.

The facade design is based on an orthogonal concrete grid which supports a red brick wall. Taking advantage of Mexico’s low cost labor, bricks were placed in an un-typical manner achieving a waving surface.

The “L” formed scheme of the plan, solves street views for each apartment and creates an internal courtyard where apartment entrances are arranged. The public space of each apartment lives towards this courtyard.

Each apartment contains a living and dining room, kitchen, laundry area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom.
