Bohumilec family house

The form of single-family house in a small village Bohumilec 120 km north-east from Prague is derived from local architectural tradition. The theme of rural simplicity and austerity is involved in the solution from the overall form to the detail.

The concept is based on crossing of east-west longitudinal and north-south cross axis. The ground floor organized along east-west axis is devided into south living space visualy strongly connected with the surroundings and the service block oriented to north. The house is embodied into microworld of the plot relating to its natural and urban context.

The visual impact (color scheme of the interior, material use ) is reduced to maximalize the effect of the surroundings on the interior. This principle together with strong link between internal and external space provides the changing atmosphere of the living area inside the house.
