The supporting design idea is shaped by the architectural element of encounter levels, both as a synonym of the coexistence of people with and without disabilities, of different generations and origins of the meet on a level. This idea is shaped by the perceived horizontality of a spatial cross-community and the plateau-read stories of the building as a unifying gesture of a common life-world.

The new housing complex fits in the city, at a Belgrade street between the foothills of the Olympic Park and the tree-lined open spaces of the Schwabing hospital. According to your different functional areas that will be used overleaf differentiated, but formulated at the northwest metro access road at the junction Bumm their urban focus of the sensitive urban design gesture of a quarter slot.
By situating a building backbones along the traffic-carrying Belgradstrasse a noise-protected courtyard is created, which experiences its intergenerational spatial qualities of a consequent building separation to the south and the flow adjacent green spaces.
The closing and opening of the rooms on that encounter levels – internally and externally – is marked by the mutual neighborhoods, the graduations of an autonomous participation in Individualidät and community.

Material and construction

The complex is easily achieved in 2 or more phases. It is created as a structural masonry – and reinforced concrete with load-bearing walls and columns.
The highly insulated and ventilated outer skin of air-storey-high wooden panels in combination with fiber cement materials in its slightly iridescent understated colors provide both ablesenbaren character of the building blocks of the entire system. Same material sliding shutters on the homes show the variability and the game of daily living.
The warm wood as a material becomes a companion inside. A subtle addition of colored surfaces is used to facilitate orientation of the residents and the atmospheric transition into the surrounding space.
