LUGAR 
El proyecto de Hotel de la Casa de las Delicias tiene lugar en el entorno natural conocido como el paraje de “La olla de los álamos”, Cieza (Murcia). Se interviene en un inmueble protegido del siglo XVIII que en una posición privilegiada de gran valor paisajístico entre la ciudad y el margen del río Segura. Esta característica acentúa la importancia de revivir tanto la casa en deterioro como su paisaje natural, convirtiéndose en un faro cultural para Cieza.

PASEO
 La idea del proyecto es la rehabilitación del “Paseo de las palmeras” anexo al inmueble que se desarrolla en el eje perpendicular al acceso y a la casa. El eje de las palmeras centenarias da identidad al “skyline” del paisaje. Este tipo de vegetación está ligada a la idea de paraíso que acentúa el carácter del espacio para el ocio y el placer.

IDEA
 La intervención recupera el eje de palmeras y lo pone en valor como lugar singular y de referencia. Mediante una reinterpretación del Paseo se propone una prolongación del eje morfológica y funcionalmente. Primero, morfológicamente a través de la restauración del Paseo de las Delicias como un jardín lúdico. Y funcionalmente se materializa con un nuevo cuerpo longitudinal que junto a la restauración de la Casa de las Delicias articula el programa hotelero.

ESTRUCTURA
 La propuesta para la pieza longitudinal se “posa” y se adapta al desnivel del terreno a través de una estructura metálica de pilotis circulares. De esta forma se busca la mínima alteración en el entorno protegiendo su morfología y su hábitat. Estos pilares atraviesan la pieza longitudinal hasta alcanzar la altura de la cornisa de la casa de las Delicias, reproduciendo y enlazando visualmente la ampliación con el eje del Paseo de las palmeras.

ENVOLVENTE
Así mismo, la envolvente de la pieza se concibe como el exoesqueleto del cuerpo de un insecto. La idea es la mimetización de la pieza con el entorno y su adaptación al medio. El volumen se recubre de una piel de acero cortén cuya pátina, al envejecer, entrará en diálogo con los espacios verdes que lo rodean. La fachada principal de la pieza se recubrirá con una piel de vidrio que posibilite la transparencia matizada hacia las vistas panorámicas del paisaje. Finalmente, la construcción en cubierta de la piscina aumenta la inercia térmica de la pieza y de este modo, el ahorro energético.

SITE 
The project for the Hotel, Casa de las Delicias, is located in a rural area known as “La Olla de los Álamos” in Cieza (Murcia). The intervention takes place in a historic building from the XVIII century which is situated in a landscape of great value between the city of Cieza and the border of the river Segura. Its position and characteristics reinforce the importance of the restoration not only of the house but also the surrounding landscape, converting it into a cultural beacon for Cieza.
PASEO 
The idea of the project is the reconstruction of the Paseo de las palmeras located perpendicular to the house and the access of the property. The axis of the century old palm trees creates the identity of the “skyline” of this landscape. This type of vegetation is based on the idea of paradise, accentuating the character of the space as a place for fun and pleasure.
IDEA
 The intervention recuperates the axis of the palms and emphasizes its value as a singular point of reference. Through a reinterpretation of the Paseo, the proposal prolongs the axis morphologically and functionally. Morphologically, by way of restoring the Paseo de las Delicias as a recreational garden, and functionally through the materialization of a new horizontal volume, along with the restoration of the Casa de las Delicias, that contains the hotel.
STRUCTURE 
The proposal for the horizontal volume adapts to the irregularity of the terrain by a way of a metallic structure of round pilotis. This solution attempts to have a minimal impact on the highly valued landscape. These columns pass through the horizontal addition reaching the height of the cornice of the existing house, resulting in the reproduction and visual linkage of the extension with the axis of the Paseo de las palmeras.
ENVELOPE
 The skin of the horizontal volume is conceived as an exoskeleton of the body of an insect. The idea is to blend the addition with the surrounding environment. The addition is covered with a layer of corten steel in its natural patina which ages and enters a dialogue with its surroundings. The main facade contains a horizontal window allowing a transparency with panoramic views of the landscape. Lastly, the construction of the roof incorporates a pool to augment the thermal inertia of the addition as a way to reduce energy loads.
