PORTUGUESE DISCOVERIES AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES The Altis Belém Hotel & Spa is a hotel located in Lisbon, Portugal, just a few steps from Tagus River, between two main monuments representing the Portuguese Discoveries: the Belém Tower and Padrão dos Descobrimentos, and in front of the Cultural Center of Belém. The main volume of the building with its two floors was set to emphasize the view from the city to the river, as well as the surrounding landscape to its interior spaces. In all public spaces we feel the opening of the building towards the outside, becoming friendly in its location.

The Hotel is all about details and the historical topic is patent in the wide public areas with different spaces of lounge, bar, business centre, library, reception, SPA with a swimming pool, gym and a sun deck on the rooftop, corresponding to spaces thought to be unique in the city scene.

All the 50 rooms have a wooden lacquered surface wall representing the territories that Portuguese have explored, justifying its diversity in 45 different rooms and 5 suites, each one named differently (split in “white rooms” and “black rooms”), where noble materials have been used, enhancing the contemporary architecture and accentuating the luminosity of the room.

FEITORIA RESTAURANT The XVth and XVIth century discoveries theme was transposed to a restaurant where white, black and gold dominate in a luminous environment. A partition wall made of plywood boards with a digital printed image finished with gold foil welcomes you into a cosy wine bar anticipating the restaurant area. An important feature of this space are the suspended brass cubes, that reflect the lighting towards the entire room. One of the walls is entirely defined in a cellaret coated by a golden metal mesh.

MENSAGEM CAFETERIA Enhancing the discoveries theme of the Altis Belém Hotel & Spa, when arriving to the cafeteria we face a screen-printing door with an image of the rhino Ganda. Due to the lenghty mirror wall, an important feature of this space is the reflection of the marina with its boats, on the Tagus River, spreading luminosity along the room. The cafeteria terrace is also brought to the inside by this mirror wall, keeping a sober and clean look both inside and outside and opening the building to the passer-by.
