The house is conceived for a family with two or three children. It is situated on the south slope of the ‘l’Ourthe’ valley at the boundary of the original village of Comblain-au-Pont. The site had once been a Gallo-Roman cemetery. The dwelling is implanted on the summit of the plot, one reaches it from the bottom through a vein in the ground. The volume, a perfect cube, is made from 4 elements of cor-ten steel welded in the metalwork studio and assembled on the construction site in one day – February 12th 2004, after 30 months of plastic and technical research. It aroused many debates and several appearances in the press and the televisions. We also received an important number of digital photos.

Our interest for architectural edition led us to report this project within a first work. The book is a singular object of 270 pages presented under the shape of a paper-cube of 5 cm aside ringed in a thin steel dust-jacket. The content proposes French / English descriptions, photos of steel and cardboard models, a real scale prototype, technical drawings, photos of the construction in workshop and the assembling in the village of Comblain-au-Pont in Belgium.
