Parking , Auditory And Landscape Design

The project includes the building of a car park and an auditory – both subterranean – and the redesigning of the surrounding landscape, including the demolition of several dispersed buildings erected over the years, according with the needs, but without any sort of planning. The semi-subterranean and one way parking makes good use of the natural features of the terrain, both in the entrance and exit areas, in order to guarantee the natural air circulation throughout the space. Integrally closed to the exterior and, mainly, for the school use, it intends to create some order in the wild parking that is taking place at present trough lot.

The entrance to the auditory is made through two fronts – a north entrance, that relates directly to the school, and a south entrance, with a ramp, guaranteeing the access to the disabled people. Both of the entrances lead to a lobby with toilet facilities so the space can be used independently of the school or the pension.

It is important to mention that a box-room was planned in the back of the multi-use hall that may store some educational material, equipment for exercising and debates.

The natural light and air circulation are made possible by the opening of longitudinal embrasures – to the north and to the south – and by skylights that burst from the roofing.

The playground area is considerably improved and enlarged. We propose the creation of a new rectangular playing field, as well as a replacement of the childrens furniture in the centre of the playground to facilitate vigilance. The planned roofing that extends along the building will create a course that will shelter from the rain and the sun, leading to the school entrances, according to the weather conditions.
