The classroom is bathed in a blue tinted light. If you peer through the window you can see a landscape of lush greenery. In the corridor the sunlight plays with thin columns of bamboo which project shadows on the walls of the school. Everywhere one can feel the new, the return to a particular flavor this year at Vinh Luong.

Situated close to Nha Trang, this community inaugurated a school unlike most others, a “school of bamboo” born of the partnership between the architects Nguyen Chi Tam and Charlotte Julliard, a humanitarian association, the Ecole Sauvage, and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education.

This school is remarkable in its conception, its origins and its realization. Remarkable because it reunites education and architecture for a cooperation around a simple idea : putting bamboo at the center of a project with a school that uses bamboo in an innovative fashion, opening new perpectives for economic and sturdy construction that responds to climatic conditions.

This concept, invents simultaneously materials and project a name “Theskyisbeautiful” which evokes the knowledge of hope.
