Located in an exclusive condominium facing Toledo old town, this single family house enjoys excellent views thanks to its privileged location over a hill that dominates all over the Tajo river after its slow motion through the historic old city of Toledo. The constant fragrance of the lush native vegetation as well as the northwest orientation provide a peaceful constant breeze and allows to enjoy the slow sunsets over the Tajo valley, making a good spot for this project.

The impressive views over the valley and the attraction the architect feels towards it throughout the creative process cannot make us forget other important factors such as the will of preserving intact the original morphology of the lot, to achieve that a special attention was paid to the position of all the natural existing elements ( like trees, rocks, slopes…) and to a detailed study of the possible project morphologies that allow a coexistence between functionality and the own place natural environment.

The pursued goal besides the original state preservation of the place is the addition of exterior nature to the inside of the house and its morphologic treatment as a calm organic element without any harshness over the landscape. This the origin of the constant search of views that allows the introduction of the external space as a proper composition element in the inside, using a design method based in one hand on holes and solid volumes that give way to big glass surfaces, removing this way any visual barriers inside-outside and in other hand there are also small holes whose function are framing and grapping small pieces of the landscape.

The plan of the house scatters in the lot. developing all the architecture program in three distinct bodies, that contain three different functions, day zone, night zone and service zone.

The approach course to the house is focused in the surrounding nature and the main access is at the feet of an exterior italian ramp after an enclosed garden space. Throughout this approaching path the building is perceived as a calmed whole formed of distinct low volumes and nothing can warn us of the big viewpoint space that is the living room platform together with the grass prairie and the pool. From here the views dominate over the Tajo valley mantaining the privacy at the same time, this big space enhances the perimeter of contact with the outside space, land and housing understood as a continuum.
