The project consists of a conversion of an old store room into a small loft. The plan is left as open as possible to allow the existing timber roof structure to be read, and felt spatially. This produces a strong variation from the low ceiling entry space under the mezzanine to the double height living room. The juxtaposition of different textures and materials maps the different uses of the house, from the pvc stretched fabric walk in robe, to the in situ cast concrete kitchen bench, to the perforated steel stair.
