La completa ristrutturazione di questa residenza situata nel cuore di Trastevere a Roma, è stata fortemente influenzata dalla presenza del grande giardino che si apre sulla lussureggiante altura del Gianicolo. L’obiettivo del progetto è stato quello di creare un equilibrio fra l’antica struttura del palazzo e lo stile moderno degli interni. La zona giorno, concepita come un open space, si affaccia sul giardino dando profondità agli spazi. La cucina è parzialmente nascosta da un muro in mattoni bianchi che non arriva a toccare il soffitto e lascia percepire la continuità degli spazi. La zona notte è divisa in due camere da letto, tre bagni e due cabine armadio.

The project’s purpose is to create a balance between the rustic ancient building structure and the modern style of the interior. The day area, conceived as an open space, overlooks a large garden and creates an ‘inside out’ perspective. The kitchen is partially enclosed behind a brick wall that doesn’t reach the ceiling, thus preserving the perception of the continuing space. From the entrance, emphasis is given to the modern fireplace. The night area is divided into two bedrooms, three bathrooms and two walk-in closets. The daring and functional design shapes in the bathrooms are made possible with the use of resins and new materials.
