Campus Park Skara includes a new Teglaskolan as well as a unified plan for at 20 hectares park area in the heart of Skara. Skara town is situated in Västra Götalands Län in Sweden and has 12000 inhabitants. The town’s cathedral is solitarily located and constitutes a mental and a visual centre of gravity in town. The new Teglaskolan is placed east of the cathedral and appears, through its connection with the park area, dialogue-oriented, accessible and popular.

The plan for the park area involves infrastructure, extension plans, and rainwater processing, as well as a detailed design of the park itself, which will become an undulating and inviting ‘green amphitheatre’. The park is intended as a rendezvous for all the town’s inhabitants, with special focus on the needs of children and young people. In the sub-section Teglgärden streets have been replaced by green pathways reaching out into the surrounding areas and connecting to existing pathways and roads.

The park itself is very much intended for young people, motion, and learning, and an important point is that it is linked with Victoriaparken and its lakes. Sustainability is a matter of great importance; here it comes in the shape of rainwater beds and wetlands, and these have been designed to become part of the school’s and other nearby institutions’ learning and recreational environment.
