Beverwaardse weg

0_dsc2402_simone_web_large

In Rotterdam CUBE architecten designed 15 houses as abstract alternately rotated houses on a transparent plinth. The plinth is the part of the house that the residents directly come into contact with. Therefore, it’s made of just glass from floor to ceiling and textile brick. The upperpart gives an idea of freestanding villa-like volumes. In reality each volume contains two houses. But because the front doors of houses are not all in the same facade the volumes seem to have only 1 frontdoor. As the frontdoor of the other house is around the corner each house has a relatively private entrance.
