The design takes on the “courtyard” theme and puts it in a new context. Due to the building structure and it’s uses, two different courts were developed. Both are following the same design principles, but according to your usage, form their own design. The vicarage yard is designed as a “public” yard of the community, which is defined in three key areas. The facades accompanying pavement, the surrounding grass level and the central core. The core will be used as the focus for viewers and users. An open area of gravel with established perennial beds in steel rims, portrays an image of an established, landscaped yard, which should arouse curiosity and creates diverse sight lines and seating.

The historic parish garden is being developed by the intention of its food and flower supply to the church and the inhabitants of the vicarage. The central lawn level is surrounded with planting strips and hedges. The courtyard wall acts as the protective background which secures the peaceful setting and offers additional space to sit and relax. The conference yard is developed from the principle of the terraces. Three terraces are forming the gardenyard from the upper creek to the Burgstrasse. Each terrace level offers different opportunities for it’s inhabitants with a fire pit, playground and a meeting place. A new garden house marks the end of the court to the Burgstrasse. This offers the possibility to the terrace level to create a space for bicycles and appliances while on the lower level private parking can be accommodated.
