The proposed location for the East European destination at first glance could be considered as less attractive among the nine locations. This false impression is created by the fact that there is no physical contact with the lake. But on the contrary, we find this location a privilege because of the strategic position on the elbow as a hinge of the Silk Road. It corresponds exactly to the historical reality: we are in a very important position, the place where the famous Silk Road meets the Amber Road, the Amber Road which leads from the Baltic Sea on north, to the Black Sea on south. The Amber Road crosses from Finland to the Polish kingdom’s lakes, planes and mountains and then goes through Prague, Budapest and Sofia to the Black Sea.

Detached from the ground the light chrysalises’ skin enables the transit of the New Silk Road Park visitors and brings the necessary protection for its contents. The multiple roles played by this skin beyond its cultural symbolism are to protect from noises and pollutions, filter the natural light, and energize the air volume. The principle of healthy building will bring an additional value and reflect the longing of the east Europeans for a sustainable future with help of the state of the art technologies transiting through the New Silk Road.

The functions of exhibition and entertainment will be based on the state of the art technologies of multimedia, 3D laser hologram projections, video projections, live animations and performances.

The archiving and distribution will be based on the traditional and high-tech technologies.

Commercial facilities, restaurants and cafés will participate in this multicultural context as basic items of the cultural diversity. Both the Chinese and east Europeans, with their similarities and differences, will participate in the museum activities.

The New Silk Road communication modes will vary from the traditional kinds of road, train, and airplane to the newest internet communications will be present in this unconventional space.

The soft tectonic natural lines of the created volumes will constitute a harmonizing item in the master plan linking the surrounding existing structures of the high raised living facilities on the Park boundaries and the remaining cultural areas.
