The project for the reorganization of the courthouse at the border of the historical centre of Soria aspires to redefine and built a piece of the city.

In view of the urban placement of the project, it is necessary to see it as an extension, a part and a conclusion of the border of the old town.

For this, the project tries to build a new urban landscape, leaning on characteristic elements which constituent the urban tissue of the city. It absorbs the density of the old town, exports it to the project area and takes its form conformable to the geometry and the scale of the old town.

The compactness of gothic blocks, defined by fragmentation and accumulation, postulates to reorganize the requested big volumes of the program in different smaller pieces posed on a common base. This fragmentation of the volumes adapts to the scale and the urban profile of the environment/ neighbourhood without changing it. It also permits to adapt the geometry to the context and to create public spaces by controlled incisions in the volumes.

The project, as well as the city, live from the entirety and define itself by the juxtaposition of its pieces, its masses in regard to an urban conception which intends to continue the urban movements and to offer a conclusion of the urban zone below the castles park.
