The residential complex is made of two buildings: one of these two, is ”L” shaped. They look each other indipendent but, actually, are joint by an undergound parking area, a balcony system and a garden. The housing structures are located in the very center of the study area of the masterplan. Their main feature is a remarkable plainnes, matching perfectly with the landscape and the previous buildings. The area, where the residential complex would born, is characterized by a huge quantity of green spaces, divided into public and privat properties. The first one consists in the long tree-lined roads ending in the large sporting area. The second one is constituted by the yard of the fabric, that is on a level upper than the road height. On a global view this yard results to be a sort of “micro-landscape”, highlighted by the the different heights connecting the garden to the parking area, naturally lighted and aired in this way. The underground parking area, similar to a cement line, wants to be the natural extension of the road and flows underneath the houses. From this point, starts the lifting system, linked to the balconies which allow the access to the apartments. The flats are planned as units of 5,50 X 11,50 metres in order to be cheap and easy to be built. More units may also be linked to obtain larger flats on much floors. The interior plan is concentrated on the living room and the kitchen, very often connected together. Some apartments have two entrances: one on the kitchen and the other one on an“office” area specially thougth for long-distance job or suitable to set firms, in order to increase service. The flats set on the last floor have small courtyard similar to an “ortus conclusus”. These small gardens may be equipped by the occupants as they like. The remarkable flexibility of the apartments appears clearly in the the design of the facade: the windows are placed seemingly at random and are equipped with sliding and folding sun-screens that give a dynamic effect according to the the moment of the day. In some particular point the facades give room to terraces and hanging gardens. The effect il similar to a “lightening” in the thickness of the building. At the foot of the block there is an area specially designed to host shops. The coverings emphasize the contact between the sky and the building, and are variously shaped, reflecting the surrounding environment.
