A single family home from the 1930s, located in an architecturally homogeneous, green residential area, was to be expanded. Although floor area is almost doubled, when looking at the expansion from the street it appears as a slender, dynamic sculpture that unfolds itself towards the rearward garden.

A new entrance is nestled against the existing building by an obtuse angled bend and protruded glazing that offers initial views of the garden. Adjacent to it an ample kitchen-living room opens up. Together with a living room and study located in the old building it embraces a spacious terrace from two sides.

Master bedroom, children’s bedrooms and a bathroom are located upstairs. By an additional stairway the upper level can be divided into two separate zones. The flat roof of the expansion is crowned by a  roof terrace and a jacuzzi.
