Icon and the semplicity of architecture:

The design tryes to rethink the retail and office spaces only by using architectural devices connected with typology. Spaces are built up in order to provide possibilities to host any kind of activities. The structure of the ground floor reflect a “basilical” organisational system repeated in series with the insert of a vertical core. “Basilical” spaces are historicaly the best way to show something as we can see in the history of churches, museums but also of the “mercato”.

The configuration of the inside:

Three double store space are added to each other in a way to be able to host vertical connection. They are composed by two security staircases and three elevators. On the backside a ramp connected with the secondary road allows to organize the parking system and the shop-storages. The first floor of the shops is organized along a suquence of room intertwined with small spaces for secondary activities. The second floor host a space more open facing the groundfloor as a kind of terrace. Internal staircases and elevators allow the connections between the different levels. From the second to sixth floor the building hosts the offices spaces. The project provides three spaces per floor. They are organized by using a shelve-wall and a toilet box as units divisions. At the seventh floor are organized three apartments with three bed rooms and two toilettes each other.

The configuration of the outside:

The building will show outside how a so simple organisational system works. For this reason we choose a double glazed facade organized on a 75 X 75 cm glass module. A so generic skins will show all the the inside typological articulations and the urban outside strategies. Furthermore the building as an icon wants to show an its own position within the urban tissue of Teheran. In order to create a public space is taken the decision to keep free the 300 sqm space facing Vali Sar Avenue. In this way the tree sequence of the Avenue facing the main facade of the building creates a sort of urbanity. The facade on the Avenue became the most important urban tool of the project. For this reason the floors surface reduction is kept by maintaing the edge on the main facade. The volume shows to the street a sort of pureness underlined by the “generic”and isometric 75 X 75 cm trasparent grid envelope. The double facade is built up on alluminium profiles. A structure grid of 150 cm allows to fix the system to the building. The outside facade is composed by a temperate glass and in the space between the false ceiling and the floors it’s hosted a solar cells system. The inside facade is provided with a reflecting system to control the natural light level of the interior.
