Concorso di progettazione per la costruzione del «Kunstens Hus», la «Casa delle Arti» di Herning. Il programma prevede la realizzazione di un complesso in grado di creare un forte legame tra le varie discipline artistiche, con locali dedicati alla musica e alle arti figurative. Superficie complessiva: 5.000 – 7.000 mq. Costo di costruzione: 120.000.000 DKK.

Herning Center of the Arts will be between 5,000 and 7,000 m2. In addition to exhibition spaces and a concert hall, it will provide a range of shared facilities for the three institutions Herning Art Museum, Socle du Monde and MidWest Ensemble. The project is budgeted at DKK 120 million and will be completed by the end of 2007. After publicizing the competition in February 2005, Herning Center of the Arts Foundation received applications from 41 different architectural firms. 4 of these were selected to proceed to the final competition in May 2005. In addition, the steering committee had already invited two distinguished architectural firms to compete. A majority of 9 on the jury voted for Steven Holl Architects. A minority of 4 voted for CUBO Architects.
