Concorso di progettazione per la realizzazione del «New Silkroad Cultural Park». Il programma prevede la realizzazione di un percorso tematico sulla Via della Seta tra Cina ed Europa, lungo il quale saranno realizzate 9 stazioni culturali, ognuna delle quali rappresentativa delle culture attraversate dalla Via. World renowned as the city of the Terra Cotta Warriors, Xi’an is one of the six Great Ancient capital of China, having hosted 13 dynasties in China’s history. Formerly named Chang’an, the current Shaanxi Province capital was the origin of the ancient Silk Road. Echoing the Silk Road’s historical impact on cultural exchange between Asia and Europe, the New Silk Road project is exploring, through defining innovative urban spaces, the impact of the intensifying global communication and travel upon the merging of cultures. Beyond a sequence of autonomous formal landmarks, the 9 cultural areas of New Silk Road will define the public spaces of the Qu Jiang new district and contribute to provide high quality of urban context to its residents and visitors.
