Stavanger municipality has purchased Tou Bryggeri’s previous properties in Lervik (Storhaug), upon the presumption that they shall be used for various arts purposes – Tou Scene, who is the current tenant, studio building for artists, rehearsal premises for rythmic music etc. A decision was made in the municipality’s executive committee meeting 11.3.2010 to start the engineering design services for the first construction stage: Studio building, rehearsal premises and a new technical infrastructure as the first construction stage. A condition analysis and a feasibility study have been worked out which can be considered to be at a sketch project level. The starting point for the further engineering design services is that a preliminary project shall now be developed for the three sub projects mentioned above, this is expected to be completed by the turn of the year 2010/2011. Area wise the Studio building is approx. 4 415 m² and the rehearsal premises are approx. 1 900 m². The tender documents will be sent out from 10.5.2010. A site survey will be held for interested companies Wednesday 26.5.2010. (12:00), meet at the site (Kvitsøygata).
